Annoyed with grit and mud flinging up into your visor...your face and eyes? So was I.
This is a customized mod made by Essential Fear Depot just for the Himalayan 450 born out of an unpleasant experience. (A few of us ride the Himi here)
This is especially noticeable at less than 80km....90% of riding speeds!
Regain the freedom of riding with the wind on your face and not then sand!
A Good solution: Replace the top fender/mud guard with one that works! Typically a dirt bike motorcross guard.
Unfortunately Royal Enfield have a unique bolt configuration. This kit converts it to a flat plane that most guards adopt.
Provided the aftermarket universal guard has a flat mounting area approximately 90x90mm you are good to go.
TIP: get a guard that allows good airflow to the radiator and steep angle down at rear.
USA Riders: Order the plastic Sleeve and no bolts kit. Trumps Tariffs have an extra 50% for items containing metal/aluminium !!!
To save you some searching, Here are some guards/styles you might like. I have no affiliation with any of them. My Himi is Black so I have only shown black. I cannot guarantee these all fit especially with respect to the angle of the rear section. The Acerbis SuperMoto SM looks cool but its virtually the same size as original. Polisport is my preference.
Tools required: a marker pen, drill with 6 or 7mm drill bit, two spanners/sockets 10mm, 4mm Allen key. You will need the 4 original 5mm Allen/hex screws.
